Volunteering Vacancy Service

The variety of volunteering opportunities on the MLP is immense.

Search through hundreds of volunteering opportunities available via our online Volunteering Vacancy Service. The service offers you a diverse range of opportunities across Greater Manchester including opportunities in:

  • Children and young people
  • Vulnerable adults
  • Health
  • Fundraising, marketing and events
  • Conservation and the environment
  • Arts, culture and media
  • Sports and leisure

Details, including information about the organisation, duties and how to apply for each opportunity are provided. New volunteering opportunities are also emailed to you regularly so that you don't miss out.

The Volunteering & Community Engagement Team also organise MLP Challenges, regular volunteering events throughout Semester time.

Student-led projects

Student-led projects are volunteer initiatives which are planned, developed and delivered by students to benefit the wider community. They are a real opportunity for you to tailor volunteering to your own interests. Student-led projects are a great opportunity for you to develop both personally and professionally, whilst having loads of fun.

  • Sports Volunteer Scheme The Sports Volunteer Scheme enables you to engage with the local Manchester community through volunteering in sport.
  • Manchester Museum The Manchester Museum provides you with a wide range of cultural and educational volunteering roles.
  • Widening Participation Programme The Widening Participation Programme offers you a wide variety of different activities involving primary and secondary school students.
  • Student Action Manchester Student Action Manchester, part of The University of Manchester Students' Union provides many opportunities, including volunteering with the homeless, children, learning disabled adults and older people.
